6th and 7th graders be sure to bring in your order form and money tomorrow for the fundraiser to the following: 6th grade to Block 1-7th grade to 1st hour.
Listen up sports fans!! The annual 8th grade student/staff basketball game is back!! The teachers hold a 4-0 record against the kids. You will get to witness 5 8th grade girls and 5 8th grade boys play a game against your own teachers. The following 8th graders will represent the students: AZ Zinn, Eva Tucker, Jessie Parra, Jessica Silva, Jesse Hopkins, Ty Overboe, Adam Parker, Quin Trujillo, Derek Martinez, and Josh Camerlo. Those ten players need to meet in Coach Laird's room tomorrow during lunch. Please bring your lunch. The game will take place June 3rd after the 6th/7th grade awards ceremony. Thanks a lot and good luck to all who all play. Remember teachers Coach T is no longer here!!

Shirts must cover the shoulders and clothing should fit without exposing undergarments, buttocks, stomach or cleavage. Students in violation will be referred to the office for loaner clothing.

The class that collects the most Box Tops and Labels will earn the right to have an ice-cream party. Collection ends on May 31.

Students are you interested in participating in a relay for the next pep assembly? If so, please place your name in the 6th, 7th, or 8th grade box located in the office. We will do a drawing for participants on Friday, May 9th.
NJHS students interested in attending field day at Centennial Elementary on May 30 may pick up permission slips in Mrs. Smith's room any time during the school day. The deadline for turning in permission slips is May 12.
All current NJHS students are expected to attend the induction ceremony on May 22. Please see Mr. Hinkle, Mrs. Smith, or Mrs. Martinez for clarification or additional information.

Tomorrow May 6th at lunch, we will be introducing a fundraising project to benefit all of you next fall. We will be sending home order forms for breakfast burritos, pretzels, tamales and churros to raise money for next year's athletic programs . We all know how much fun it is to participate in sports and it will be even better with new equipment, uniforms and other extras. We also will be raising money for our HABIC program, which stands for Human and Animal Bond in Colorado, that program pays for the animals that come into our school and spend time with some of our students. Please look for tomorrow's kickoff packet to take home and we will show you the Wheel of Fortune where you can win great prizes.

NJHS students interested in attending field day at Centennial Elementary on May 30 may pick up permission slips in Mrs. Smith's room any time during the school day. The deadline for turning in permission slips is May 12.

Do you like ice-cream? Then listen up! NJHS is sponsoring a Box Top and Campbell's Label collection contest. Collect all the box tops that you find starting May 1and turn them in to your teacher as follows: 6th grade turn into block 2, 7th grade turn into core class 3, and 8th grade turn into elective 2. The class that collects the most Box Tops and Labels will earn the right to have an ice-cream party. Collection ends on May 31.
All 7th graders interested in playing football for Westlake next year, please meet in Coach Fast's technology room, this Thursday, May 1, after school. There will be a short meeting, and then we will go to the field and play flag football. Bring your gym shorts and shoes. Football players may play for Westlake and BYFA, Blitz, etc. We will also meet after school on Tuesday, May 6, and Thursday, May 8. Practice will be over by 5:00.

The kitchen and the cafe will be making some changes for the remainder of this year and next year. Starting today you will be serving all vegetable and fruit yourselves. We are getting a jump start on "going green" for next year. Beginning May 5th the ala cart line will be closed and you will pay the cashier first and then get your food. All the lines have the same food. Blackjack and Subway will be served in the two end lines. All these changes will remain in effect next year as well. Starting May 8th-no more lunch charges.
Austin Willeke holds the top tag for the Westlake Chains disc golf club. Everyone else in the club will be competing for the number one. Come on out and Join the club Tuesday after school in the front lobby. Check with Mr. Austin about club membership packages. Guests are welcome to check out a loaner set and enjoy the fun.

Tell an adult. Don't just stand there and watch, especially if someone is being hurt physically. Tell an adult about the bully and what's going on. If you feel uncomfortable or unsafe telling an adult, ask the adult to keep your comments private.

Please get them turned in before Spring Break!!

All Movie Club members meet in Ms Maxsom's room-D 100- at the beginning of 3rd period today. We will have our picture taken for the yearbook.

We have collected $89.53 for the rope pump for Uganda!!! We only need $30.47 to bring clean water to African people. Be a positive part of this change ~ bring your spare change to your science class by Friday, March 21st. We CAN make a difference!
