Westlake Middle School is an exemplary middle school in which academic excellence is expected and cultivated through a collaborative partnership among students, staff, and parents. Our community fosters a caring, respectful environment that is focused on learning. Westlake empowers all members of its team to become leaders, innovators, and learners in continual pursuit of on-going improvements and achievement every day. It is the collective responsibility of the entire Westlake staff to be responsive to the needs of our students, ensuring the individual success of every child.

Curriculum
Westlake Middle School recognizes the importance of providing all students with a coherent and relevant curriculum. The curriculum will be:
- Sequenced and aligned vertically and horizontally to ensure academic growth from grade to grade and subject to subject.
- Implemented using department identified essential learnings and pacing charts for each subject and grade level.
- Utilized to establish and maintain articulation with feeder elementary and secondary schools.
Parents and Guardians
Westlake Middle School recognizes the importance of establishing effective partnerships with parents and community members. Parents commit to:
- Participate and take an active interest in student’s academic and social success.
- Communicate with the school and teams of teachers on a consistent and respectful basis.
- Support student’s extended learning by:
- Establishing a consistent schedule for completing work.
- Setting up a consistent, organized place for work to be completed.
- Encouraging, motivating, and prompting their student to complete his or her work on time.
- Help prioritize and monitor student’s activities to provide appropriate focus on school work.
