Hello Westlake Parents!
Looks like things are picking up at Westlake! On October 12th, 6:00-8:00pm, we are having our first social of the year! Excited to get the kids out and having some fun after school is just what we have in mind! Our socials are more than dancing...much more! They include games, contests and dragging the staff out there to dance!! Westlake socials are not like the ones you remember from your junior high years....nope, we have a great time....and we need your help! We need chaperone's, we need parents to "adopt a pizza" for $5 (or more if you want to adopt a couple!!), or donate acase or two of water...with school budgets not always allowing money for social events, we would like to keep our expenses to a minimum but make sure the kids get the maximum! By adopting pizza's we can get the kids fed and donations of water keeps the kids hydrated and MUCH easier on the floor for clean up! Are you willing to help us out? If so, please reply here: ajhanson2@comcast.net or phone, 303-460-7354, we'd love to see you there!!
It's Parent/Teacher conference time and more help is needed!! We need to feed the animals...oops, I meant the teachers...on Tuesday October 16th from 2-3pm....but you can drop your food donations off ANYTIME on the 16th! We need....main dishes....desserts....salads.....paper products....drinks....utensils....anything! Make it or buy it, we'd love to have it! Please let me know if you are interested helping us feed the teachers....they do put in a 15+ day...it's the least we can do!
Please contact Anne Hanson at 303-460-7354 or reply to: ajhanson2@comcast.net
For those of you who have requested to help out in the classroom...hang on, we're breaking through to the teachers who have never been offered help! We are getting together a list of teachers who need help in their classrooms...we'll be sending out email requests soon!
Boy, if that all wasn't enough....our media specialist will be holding a book fair in the library during conferences and sure could use some parent volunteers to help out!! If you are interested in working the book fair for Westlake Middle School, please contact: Lorraine Slover
Thanks for taking a V.O.W. (Volunteers of Westlake) and helping us make the year a success for the students, teachers and staff of Westlake!
