Wolverine Jazz Ensemble

The Wolverine Jazz Ensemble at Westlake is a before-school co-curricular opportunity available to all current 8th band students, and, by invitation, current 7th grade band students and Westlake 8th grade students who already play a jazz band rhythm section instrument such as piano, guitar or bass. The WJE will continue to develop knowledge about jazz history, style, improvisation and arranging through performance. The WJE will perform at 3 school concerts this year, and travel to perform at jazz festivals across the state. Good attendance and timely arrival to rehearsals are required for participation.
