All students will access all of their course materials, resources, & meetings through their schoology page via their Adams 12 student accounts at myaccount.adams12.org. Parents should regularly ask to check students' work and see the site so they can share what we do in class with you at home. Even if students have submitted their work, then you can check for completion using the 'view submission' button.
Mr. Evans is a proud graduate of MSU Denver receiving training in one of Colorado's most diverse and comprehensive teacher training programs. He graduated in December of 2015 with a B.A. majoring in History and minoring in Secondary Social Studies Education, Economics, and Philosophy. He also just earned a graduate degree in the Masters of Arts Teaching Culturally & Linguistically Diverse students at Regis University and was inducted into the Alpha Sigma Nu Honor Society in May of 2021. Mr. Evans began teaching at Westlake as a long term guest teacher in the Spring of 2016 and was subsequently hired on full time as one of the 6th Grade Social Studies teachers. His diverse background in the content area helps to provide students with a more holistic perspective to Social Studies and the curriculum prescribed by the district focusing on CLD education. As a Colorado native, Mr. Evans is a consummate lover of the outdoors and the Rocky Mountains. He spends his free time with his dog, Harley Quinn, hiking, camping, reading, working out, and going to concerts. Excited for the coming school year, Mr. Evans is grateful to be a part of an amazing staff & school that proves to be not only an exceptional community, but also a nurturing and caring FAMILY.
For information and updates about what's going on in Social Studies classes, please see check schoology for descriptions, updates, and daily agendas. If students are absent from S.S. class, then they should make sure to first check schoology, complete any assignments or readings for the day, and come prepared with any questions to check in with me before class starts the following day. Any questions can also be emailed to me directly as students are working to complete work from home.
