I am very excited to be in my sixteenth year here at Westlake Middle school as a special education teacher. I am also the department head and instructional leader for the department. I am looking forward to a year of learning, growing, and fun with each of you. I can't wait to learn more about the students and parents, but first a bit about me.
I was born and raised here in Broomfield, Colorado. I went to Nativity of Our Lord Catholic school for elementary and middle school, then to Broomfield High school. I graduated from the University of Northern Colorado with a BS in Speech Language Pathology and Audiology. After graduation I sold hearing aids for some time and then decided to teach preschool. I then went back to school and got my teaching license in special education. I taught for a year in Denver Public Schools, then fortunately I became a Westlake Warrior then a Westlake Wolverine, and I have loved it ever since.
I have 3 amazing kids, 2 lovely step children, one awesome husband, and 3 crazy dogs, a weinerminer, chocolate lab, and an English bulldog. As a family we love to play and watch our kids sports, go to outdoor festivals, museums, travel, camp, hike, hunt, read, eat out, and enjoy this unbelievable state.
Some of my favorite things are:
